Starting Over: Discover and Live Your Passion
January 14, 2010 by Erin Casey
Is your new year is off to a fantastic start? I hope so! And I hope you took some time to consider the questions from my previous blog post. I say this, not because I want you to dwell on the past, but because it’s important to have a clear picture of where you want to go and to understand what may be standing in your way. One way to break through success barriers is to be certain that your passion and purpose are in alignment with your goals. If they aren’t, you may want to reevaluate those goals.
This past week, I’ve been listening to Gary Vaynerchuk’s book, Crush It! The intensity of the author’s passion for his work is enviable. The pervasive theme of the book is that passion is critical for over-the-top success. We can achieve mediocre success easily enough by plodding along in comfortable routines, but to create a life that really thrills you, unabashed passion is required.
What are you passionate about?
Is your passion part of your daily life? If not, how can you shift your circumstances to make living your passion a priority?
Remember, success is personal—each individual has her own definition—and the same applies to passion. You can’t live someone else’s dream for your life. So, as you begin 2010, check your goals, making sure they are yours and that they align with your passion. When you do, pursuing them will not only be easier, but far more rewarding.

I am so excited about a resource that focuses specifically on women. I subscibe to Success magazine. However, I just discovered Success for Women.
I am so excited that somone else is also charged with inspiring and encouraging all of us to LIVE ON PURPOSE!
I love that you ask women to look at their life to see if passion is part of their daily life.
Everyday I work with women entrepreneurs who have become disconnected from their passion. Sometimes it’s their passion for the work they are doing, but sometimes their passion is a long forgotten dream they don’t even think is possible.
Reading “Crush It” is a great example of a guy who is completely living his passion and purpose in life. Another great book that showcases this is “The Passion Test”.
First we have to discover our passion and purpose, then create a blueprint of what we want our lives to look like and then create a business that flows from our passion and funds our lifestyle.
That is the path to happiness and success I teach and it’s worked in my life for over 30 years.
